HEATING

Heaters throughout the property are electric.

The hallway heating is preset to come on at specific times during the colder months, but if you find you are cold get in touch and we can ensure the settings are changed to your liking.

The hallway and lunge radiators have controls on the top of the radiator that allows you to turn up, or down, the specific heat from each radiator when the heating is on.

The Bedrooms temporarily have freestanding oil filled rads as we are in the process of upgrading the bedroom wall radiators.  The controls for the oil filled radiators are on the side of the radiators.  It is important that these are switched off when you are away from the apartment.

Please do take care, especially with children, as the panels will be hot to touch when on.

Checking the hallway heating is on: On occasions the hallway heating may have be turned to holiday mode, if you believe the radiator in the hallway is not heating up here’s how to check and ensure it is on.

  • The main heating control of the hallway is in the cupboard opposite the main bathroom.
  • On the wall to the right when you open that cupboard (where the water tank is) there is a CredaNet Control Unit.
  • Slide the little switch bottom left so that it is combed from “Holiday” to “Prog Run”

Please ensure radiators are switched off (unless you have set the automatic timers) when you leave the apartment.  When departing at the end of your stay, please ensure all heating has been switched off at the wall switches.

Overnight, please switch radiators off or for the rooms set to a lower temperature that is comfortable for you and kinder on the environment.

Setting the heat level on the hallway radiator: The hall heater will store heat for output later night the day/evening to keep the central corridor warm for for you.

The dials on the top of the radiator control how much heat is store and how much is output:

The output dial (on the left)  controls the heat that is output.

  • This should be at the lowest setting, level 1, and increased only when extra heat is required.
  • Turn this back to the lowest setting at the end of each day.

The input dial (on the right) controls how much heat is stored overnight ready for use the next day.

  • Ideally (in colder months) the input dial on the right should be set to level 3 or 4.
  • If the heat is too low each morning set the input dial to level 5 or 6
  • If the heat is too hight each morning, reduce the input dial to level 1 or 2

Lounge or portable heaters not warming up as expected:

If either of the lounge radiators are not heating up as expected, check they are switched on at the wall socket (where the heater cable goes into).

If the portable bedroom heaters are not warming up, please ensure they are plugged into the sockets and the dials on the right of the heater is not on time mode, but set to the On (I) mode.

HOT WATER

opposite the main bathroom is the hot water tank cupboard.

The system is set-up with automated timing for providing hot water.  Each morning and early evening the timer will automatically heat the tame of water.  If for any reason the hot water has run out, or gone cold (very rate but can happen when 5 or more are staying), there is a simple boost button to re-heat the water.

Nothing difficult, here’s what to do to use the boost function and re-heat the water in the tank.

  • If you open the hot water cupboard, inside one the wall nearest the front door are two panels
  • The rectangle shaped panel is for the heating, the smaller square panel for the hot water.
  • Press the button on the hot water panel (labeled boost).
  • Press once for 1/2 hour
  • Press twice to boost for 1 hour
  • Press three times for 2 hours of boost.
  • A fourth press of the button will switch boost off.

Depending on the option selected this will start the heating of the water in the tank for between 1/2 hour and 2 hours.   A red light displays which option has been selected.

Please note the boost button does not provide instant hot water, it will take time for the system to fully heat the tank.  Usually this is around 20-30 minutes from a completely cold tank.
